Scoliosis is a condition involving abnormal sideways curvature of the spine.
Although commonly diagnosed during adolescence, scoliosis can also develop or progress during adulthood.


Treatment depends on curve severity, progression risk and patient symptoms.

Common Misconception

Many people believe scoliosis develops because of carrying heavy school bags.
Current medical evidence does not support this belief. Most cases of scoliosis have no clearly identifiable cause, and there is no proven link between carrying a school bag and the development of scoliosis.
